M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Junior Estimator – Industrial to join our nationwide team. You’ll support cost estimates, analyze drawings, scopes, and pricing to help proposals for industrial and commercial electrical projects.

Ideal candidates have a BS/BA in engineering or construction management (or related experience) and 1–3 years in estimating or field work. You’ll work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a skilled project team across locations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of project estimates by reviewing drawings, scope of work documents, pricing schedules, and specifications provided by the customer and performing labor and material take-offs and cost history analyses to support proposal development.
• Assist project team in scoping projects for engineering, construction, and contractual requirements.
• Assist with the development of construction and billing schedules.
• Assist with the development of standardized historical cost databases and application tools to aid future estimates.
• Research, contact, organize, and evaluate subcontractors, equipment, and material pricing provided by vendors based on project location.
• Attend customer pre-bid meetings at the project locations or customers office location.
• Visit project sites to perform time studies on various tasks.
