Job summary

VEIT is seeking an Estimator II to review plans and specifications, gather quantities, collect subcontract quotes, and assemble bids for owner or general contractors. You will work with the Project Manager to finalize proposals in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include takeoffs in AGTEK, bid construction by adding activities and crews, and maintaining compliance with Veit policies. Travel to jobsites and client meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or 3–5 years bidding experience.
• Proficiency with construction bidding and project management software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and stakeholders.
• Ability to present information to top management and external parties.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specs to determine scope of work for the project.
• Review sites before bidding to inform estimates.
• Perform earthwork takeoff using AGTEK and hand takeoffs for quantities.
• Calculate quantities (area, length, volume) for materials and movement.
• Solicit subcontractor quotes and consider DBE/MBE requirements.
