Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Engineer – Industrial Clean Tech to join the Metals group in our Pittsburgh, PA office. You will support global offices, evaluating process options and performing mass/energy balances on gas handling and mine ventilation projects.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with strong engineering fundamentals, GPA 3.0+, and willingness to travel to project sites. In-office environment with occasional remote work is available; sponsorship for visas is not provided.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering

• Evaluate Process Alternatives and Equipment/Technology Selection
• Analyze existing equipment operational data to improve processes (in terms of throughput and/or cost)
• Participate in studies and projects in the metals and minerals industry with a focus on gas handling and mine ventilation
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations and prepare process flow diagrams
• Prepare design calculations, documentation and develop technical specifications for purchase of a wide range of gas handling and mine ventilation, heating, and cooling equipment
• Perform technical bid analysis and recommendations
• Participate in trade-off studies evaluating process alternatives and/or equipment/technology selection
• Perform data analysis and computer simulation using specialty software
• Travel and perform on site measurements
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
• Participate in equipment design reviews and plant layout development
• Provide inputs to capital and operating cost estimates
• Participate in process hazard review studies (e.g. HAZID / HAZOP)
• Prepare technical reports and presentations
• Contribute to proposal development and winning work
• Attend meetings and collaborate with client teams
