Job summary

Whiting-Turner is seeking entry-level engineers to help manage all aspects of construction projects. Reporting to a project manager and/or superintendent, the engineer will coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure quality and contract compliance.

The role emphasizes learning safety regulations, scheduling, blueprints, and coordination of trades while supporting project budgets and timelines in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, engineering technology or construction management.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors and direct the work of all trades on site.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage project budgets.
• Resolve and clarify design issues to keep projects on track.
• Identify and resolve field issues and change orders.
• Write contracts and purchase orders documenting work, costs and specifications.
