Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level Engineer to help manage all aspects of construction projects. The role reports to a project manager and/or a superintendent and involves coordinating with owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors on site.

Responsibilities include assisting with estimating and bidding, resolving design issues, reviewing drawings and change orders, and providing field support to ensure safety, quality, and contract

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of engineering principles is required as part of foundational qualifications.
• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage project budget.
• Resolve and clarify design issues and field changes.
• Review project drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders.
• Provide field support to construction superintendents to ensure contract compliance and quality.
• Track project phase completion against milestones.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with safety standards and contract specifications.
