DLA Piper seeks a junior associate for its Corporate practice, focusing on energy, infrastructure, and corporate transactions across U.S. offices with preference for San Diego or New York.

Ideal candidate has experience advising sponsors, developers, investors, and financial institutions and brings strong drafting and negotiation skills. Candidates should have an excellent academic record from a nationally recognized law school and be admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction where applying.
• 1-3 years of corporate, energy, or infrastructure transactional experience.
• Familiarity with tax equity financings, transferable tax credits, structured financings, and complex investments is a plus.
• Experience with M&A, project development, project finance, and joint venture transactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research to support transaction strategy and preparation.
• Draft memos, contracts, and correspondence with high accuracy.
• Assist/manage complex transactions from inception to closing and related activities.
• Interact with internal and external clients with professionalism and clarity.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop transaction strategies.
• Attend client calls and meetings; support negotiations and diligence.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and evolving precedents.
• Pursue ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and leadership skills.
• Engage in firm citizenship and pro bono work as appropriate.
