Job summary
Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an Electrical Designer to support our Buildings Government Services team in Albany, NY.
You will work under close supervision, evaluating and engineering electrical power, lighting, fire alarm and low voltage systems for buildings. You will assist in using Revit and AutoCAD to create design documentation, perform calculations, and coordinate with other disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Co-op/Internship experience for an A/E firm preferred.
- EIT credentials and/or licensure a plus.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas.
Responsibilities
- Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and similar materials.
- Creates electrical design documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Performs engineering calculations to analyze and design building electrical system components.
- Coordinates with architectural, interior design and other disciplines under guidance of senior engineer/designer.
- Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
- Assists with data collection to support design decisions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by senior staff.
