Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to support Federal projects under close supervision. You will assist in evaluating, specifying, and engineering electrical power and lighting systems, with focus on codes and internal standards.

Responsibilities include Revit design, AutoCAD drafting, basic engineering calculations, and field data collection, collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver integrated building solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Entry level new graduates preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean MVR
• Understanding of Revit and AutoCAD, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool.
• Prefer experience with Revit, AutoCAD, AGI 32, Visual Lighting Software, SKM/ETAP, Newforma.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of electrical designs, drawings, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers and designers.
• Performs Revit and/or AutoCAD design for the electrical discipline using knowledge of relevant software programs and established project standards.
• Works with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/ designer.
• Participate in field investigations and data collection while working alongside experienced senior engineers/ designers.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and support the design of electrical building systems using industry-standard and manufacturer software.
• Assists with engineering and design tasks on projects of varying size and complexity.
• Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
• Support the development of reports, studies, calculations, specifications, and other project deliverables.
• Learn and apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with project teams to support successful project delivery and client service.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.
