Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Rochester, NY seeks an Electrical Engineer / Project Designer to lead electrical design, perform calculations, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across projects. You will mentor staff, develop design concepts, and manage documentation for power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.

Experienced candidates with strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, field experience, and client-facing abilities will thrive in this role, contributing to sustainable building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with lighting emphasis.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is not required but pursuance of future licensure is encouraged.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is not required but pursuance of future certification is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Creates electrical design documentation using Revit/AutoCAD.
• Provides direct supervision to staff to develop skills and mentor.
• Leads design development with sketches, calculations, models, diagrams.
• Prepares site plans, floor plans, diagrams and details.
• Coordinates with architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil disciplines.
• Performs advanced calculations and field reviews.
• Leads engineering construction administration duties on projects.
• Develops discipline specifications and selects building electrical systems.
• Provides client consultation and nurtures client relationships.
