Job summary

HOLT CAT is seeking an entry-level Mechanic to perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on diesel-powered heavy equipment in our Austin, TX shop. You will work under supervision, use hand and pneumatic tools, and learn to read schematics and plans while ensuring quality and safety.

The role supports the Machine Division (MAC) with on-site maintenance, equipment handling, and documentation. A high school diploma or diesel tech program completion is preferred; no travel required.

Qualifications

• One or more years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Reading and interpreting schematics/diagrams is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; diesel tech program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on diesel-powered heavy equipment.
• Disassemble/reassemble components using hand and pneumatic tools per manufacturer specs.
• Maintain shop and safety standards; complete repair documents promptly.
