Job summary

HOLT CAT in Texas seeks an experienced diesel mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment and related systems. The role involves independent and team work, adhering to procedures and safety policies while meeting customer needs and department goals.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Reading schematics and diagrams experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; diesel technology program graduation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer’s specifications with hand, pneumatic and specialized tooling.
• Rebuilds, repairs, and maintains equipment and components to ensure reliability.
• Communicates customer needs to shop management and maintains strong customer relations.
• Plans and controls cost of repair jobs and completes parts orders.
• Mentors and helps train other technicians and ensures safety standards are followed.
