Job summary

Open Technology Solutions (OTS) is seeking an Associate Data Engineer in Englewood, CO, an early-career role with 1–2 years of hands-on SQL and data work. You will join a small data team to build SQL ingestion processes, create dbt models, document workflows, and learn the Snowflake data stack.

You will contribute to data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and Python, while advancing database designs in Snowflake.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years hands-on data engineering, BI, analytics, or software development
• Real SQL coding experience
• Exposure to Python and databases like Snowflake/Oracle/SQL Server
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Fivetran, or Matillion is a plus
• Experience with BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and optimize data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and Python
• Write and run SQL for data ingestion and transformation; develop dbt models
• Support Snowflake data structures and data quality monitoring
• Automate monitoring and alerting for data pipelines and infrastructure
• Create and maintain technical documentation for data products and processes
• Research and recommend new data tools and methods
• Participate in scheduled weekend/after-hours maintenance
