Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT/CS/Cybersecurity.
• 0–3 years of cybersecurity/IT operations experience.
• Foundational cybersecurity concepts and SOC role understanding.
• Familiarity with security tools like SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM and other security tooling to review events and identify suspicious patterns.
• Perform Tier 1 alert triage by validating context, severity, and impact.
• Assist with incident response activities, gather evidence, and support containment.
• Document investigations with timelines, data sources, and actions.
• Maintain familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and scanners.
• Follow SOC SOPs, playbooks, and reporting formats; propose improvements.
• Support tuning of rules, use cases, and dashboards to reduce noise.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and risk to align monitoring with policies.
