Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a Jr. Cybersecurity Incident Response Engineer to monitor enterprise security tools and triage potential threats targeting mission-critical systems.

You will support initial investigations, distinguish false positives from real incidents, and escalate as needed. You will help contain and recover under guidance, document events and findings, and fine-tune detection rules to improve fidelity within a highly regulated federal IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of cybersecurity/IT operations with security monitoring exposure.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts and SOC roles.
• Hands-on familiarity with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoints, or scanners.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required to support federal information security requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM and security tools to review events and identify suspicious patterns.
• Perform Tier 1 alert triage by validating context and generating tickets.
• Assist incident response with evidence gathering and containment support.
• Document investigations with timelines, data sources, actions, and handoffs.
• Maintain familiarity with security technologies and interpret alerts.
• Follow SOC playbooks and contribute to improvements and tuning.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and risk teams to align monitoring with policies.
