Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Jr. Cybersecurity Incident Response Engineer to monitor security tools, analyze events, and triage threats aimed at mission-critical systems.

You will assist with investigations, document findings, and support containment under guidance. In a federal IT environment, you will tune detection rules, correlate logs, and escalate significant incidents to senior staff while collaborating with IT, operations, and risk teams to align with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years in cybersecurity, IT operations, or related roles with monitoring exposure.
• Foundational cybersecurity concepts and incident triage knowledge.
• Hands-on familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, or scanners.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM and security tooling to review events and identify patterns.
• Perform Tier 1 alert triage and document tickets for escalation.
• Assist with incident response activities, gather evidence, and support containment.
• Document investigations with timelines and data sources.
• Maintain familiarity with security tech and interpret alerts.
• Follow SOC procedures and contribute to playbooks.
• Tune rules and dashboards to reduce noise and improve visibility.
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and risk teams for policy alignment.
