Job summary

Voltera Power, LLC is seeking a Junior Cost Estimator to join the Project Controls team and help develop and price EV charging infrastructure projects. This role suits a recent graduate or early-career professional with a foundation in construction, architecture, or engineering.

You will read drawings, perform take-offs, and develop cost estimates while supporting senior estimators with RFPs and bid reviews. Remote-friendly position in the U.S., with Austin market a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience with a general contractor, architecture/engineering firm, developer, or similar organization.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of construction terminology, materials, and basic construction methods.
• Willingness to learn electrical, civil, and utility infrastructure for EV charging projects.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of construction estimating and quantity takeoffs.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, Smartsheet, Asana, Salesforce, AutoCAD, or similar software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings to understand scope and identify cost drivers.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs, 6–8 per week.
• Develop and present indicative cost estimates for EV projects.
• Assist senior estimator with RFPs, RFIs, and bid reviews.
• Update estimates as designs and conditions change.
• Maintain estimating databases and project documentation.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver accurate estimates on deadlines.
