Job summary

Baxter Healthcare in Marion, NC is seeking a Controls Engineer I to lead and support diagnostics, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment. This role offers exposure to a range of PLCs, HMI, robotics, and vision systems while contributing to a mission-driven organization focused on patient care.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and manage time effectively to drive project outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics preferred.
• Experience in a regulated industry is a plus.
• Strong accountability and ownership.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop or participate in developing solutions for assigned projects.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Work with manufacturing and other functions on regulatory compliance.
• Write/implement and report validation activities.
• Design and perform routine testing and data analysis; report results.
• Perform studies on new equipment to determine settings and control points.
• Initiate new or revised protocols/operating instructions for projects.
• Lead NCR/CAPA investigations and change control activities.
• Provide training and technical support on production assignments.
• Interpret and modify operating policies as needed.
• Assist in design, installation, and start-up of new equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on equipment/systems.
• Coordinate with multi-functional teams on projects for existing/new product lines.
• Occasionally move between office and production floor; work in a clean room environment.
• Ascend/descend ladders to access machinery.
