Job summary

Johnson-Davis Inc. seeks a Junior Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations for our underground utilities construction business. The role covers general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing with close oversight and monthly statements.

You will work with Project Managers and leadership on forecasts, cost control, and project profitability, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls across field and office teams in Florida.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Controller or accounting experience.
• Strong background in construction accounting (underground utilities preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel.
• Experience with HeavyJob and Viewpoint Vista.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting functions: GL, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing
• Prepare monthly financial statements and oversee close process
• Monitor job costs, budgets, and project profitability
• Work closely with Project Managers, General Superintendent, Superintendents and leadership on forecasts and cost control
