Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Memphis, TN is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support enforcement of company EH&S policies on construction projects. You will assist with identifying hazards and helping implement safe work practices.

This role involves reviewing subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations, coordinating preconstruction meetings, and administering training and records such as PTPS, JHAs, and OSHA logs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field, plus 1 year safety experience
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
• Able to identify hazards and propose corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Assist with enforcing EH&S policies on construction projects
• Assist with training for safe work practices and safety programs
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor safety programs for compliance with policies and regulations
• Assist with promoting safe work practices and safe working conditions
• Assist with administration of drug screening program per requirements
• Assist with coordination of preconstruction meetings
• Assist with worker orientation programs and record participation
• Assist with gathering Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
• Assist with maintaining safety records (PTPs, JHAs, training, OSHA 300, MSDS)
• Assist with safety meetings and minutes
• Assist with subcontractor toolbox safety meeting records
• Assist with site safety audits and inspections with corrective actions
• Identify and report safety violations or imminent hazards
• Other duties as assigned
