The Layton Construction Assistant Project Manager supports planning, management, and execution of construction projects. The role may oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality, owner satisfaction, and profitability, while fostering customer relationships and aligning with Layton practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, preferably in light industrial/cold storage.
• Excellent communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes and practices.
• Willingness to relocate to project sites and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Assists in preparation of estimates, project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Organizes and conducts pre-construction planning meetings.
• Negotiates subcontracts and manages project schedules, costs, and procurement.
• Develops and monitors project quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Trains and mentors project engineers and coordinates with cost/accounting for payments and lien releases.
