Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Computational Biologist I to support complex biomedical research. You will work with PI to determine computational approaches and develop data-analysis pipelines for large multi-omics datasets, producing reports for publication.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in CS or biology-related field.
• 2+ years of related research experience in bioinformatics and computational biology.
• Experience developing software and data-analysis pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory computer hardware, software, programming, and maintenance.
• Perform complex data analysis for specialized research methods and results.
• Develop or modify software to support ongoing research projects.
• Resolve hardware, software, and network issues for the lab.
• Develop and maintain complex databases for research projects.
• Train lab staff in use of research systems.
• May specialize in bioinformatics, software development, or hardware/software maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
