Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Computational Biologist II to bridge wet‑lab experimentation with advanced computational analyses. You will lead analyses of single‑cell and multiomic datasets, develop integrative models, and collaborate with the Levi Lab to translate findings into mechanistic insights and publications.

The role requires MSc/PhD in a related field and experience in bioinformatics, with responsibilities spanning data processing, visualization, and manuscript

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in CS or related field
• 2 years of bioinformatics/computational biology with MS or 4 years with BS
• Experience bridging wet-lab and computational analyses
• Publications in relevant fields preferred

Responsibilities

• Design integrated experimental and computational strategies with PI and collaborators
• Analyze scRNA-seq, snRNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, snATAC-seq and other omics data
• Perform QC, normalization, differential analysis, and pathway enrichment
• Develop spatial and image-computational workflows for imaging data
• Integrate experimental data with clinical variables and public datasets
• Develop and evaluate statistical and ML models for disease classification and biomarker discovery
• Build and maintain reproducible pipelines in R and Python
• Establish FAIR data practices and data governance
• Support wet-lab studies to generate and validate computational findings
• Mentor trainees in computational biology and statistics
• Present findings at meetings and in publications
