Job summary

UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX seeks a Computational Biologist II to bridge wet-lab experiments with advanced computational analysis across multiomic data. The role involves designing strategies with investigators, analyzing diverse sequencing and imaging data, and delivering publication-ready results.

The successful candidate will develop robust pipelines in R and Python, integrate clinical variables, and mentor junior scientists while contributing to translational research in injury,

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master's level in computational biology or related field with strong bioinformatics background.
  • Experience integrating multiomic data and computational biology methods.
  • Ability to develop and validate computational analyses and pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design integrated experimental and computational strategies with PI and collaborators.
  • Independently analyze scRNA-seq, snRNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial data, proteomics, and imaging data.
  • Develop reproducible analysis pipelines in R and Python with version control and HPC.
  • Support wet-lab studies to generate and validate computational findings.
  • Publish findings and contribute to manuscripts and presentations.
  • Mentor trainees and staff in computational biology and statistics.

Education

PhD in Computer Science or related field
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
