Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Data Scientist I to provide analysis and develop algorithms and software for clinical and basic research problems, impacting data acquisition, management, and analysis in translational and clinical settings.

This role requires a Master’s or Bachelor's with related bioinformatics experience and at least two years of post-graduate data analysis experience, with opportunities to work on diverse bioinformatics projects and collaborations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS or related field; or Bachelor's with demonstrated experience in broadly defined areas of bioinformatics.
• 2 years of post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop formalisms, algorithms and software for biomedical research.
• Develop and maintain software tools and infrastructure for resolving specific problems.
• Assist in development, testing and revision of programs in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
