Job summary

Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Junior Cloud Engineer to support cloud modernization efforts for a government agency. You will work with Azure, AWS, or GCP under senior guidance to design, implement, and support cloud solutions in an agile environment.

Ideal candidates have foundational cloud knowledge, a passion for automation, and the ability to collaborate across a small team while pursuing continued learning and certification growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• Entry-level cloud certifications: AZ-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or Google Cloud Digital Leader.
• Minimum 2 years in a cloud computing or cloud engineering role.
• Active Secret Clearance or higher.
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist in support and maintenance of cloud offerings at FISMA Moderate/High security levels.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, Scrum Master, and security engineers to improve offerings.
• Assist in POC and pilots for cloud solutions under guidance of senior staff.
• Support the development of operational plans and implementation docs for cloud access.
• Build and maintain YAML-based CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins/CircleCI).
• Support IaC efforts using Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Develop basic scripts in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Troubleshoot automation issues with the team and move projects forward.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprints).
• Research emerging cloud technologies and present findings to the team.
