Koniag Government Services is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Engineer to join a focused, small team supporting AWS Cloud service offerings for a government agency undergoing cloud modernization. The role requires an active Secret clearance and strong expertise in AWS, CI/CD, and IaC within a government context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering with AWS
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in FISMA Moderate/High environments preferred
• Active Secret Clearance or higher

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical leader guiding the AWS team toward cloud goals.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to communicate architecture options.
• Implement PoCs and pilots for cloud solutions with plans and docs.
• Build and support YAML-based CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CircleCI.
• Develop IaC solutions using Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Salt, Chef, CloudFormation.
• Design and implement Cloud-Native and Hybrid architectures.
• Partner with dev and operations to develop automation and modules.
• Research and propose solutions aligned to strategy.
• Design data, system, component architectures for leadership.
• Manage two cloud environments: FISMA Moderate and High.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive automation.
• Promote collaboration and automation culture.
• Apply Change and Configuration Management best practices.
• Operate in Agile/Scrum environment and participate in ceremonies.
