Job summary

NorthStar, a multi-disciplinary engineering and surveying firm in Chico, CA, is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training to join a collaborative team. You will work under Licensed professionals on design calculations, CAD drafting, and project documentation for a variety of community-focused projects.

Requirements include a California EIT and a B.S. in Civil Engineering, plus excellent written and verbal communication. Local travel and office-based work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and EIT certification required in California.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic design calculations, plans, details and specs under supervision.
• Help prepare applications and supporting documents for review.
• Assist with estimates and scopes for projects.
• Conduct job site inspections under licensed supervision.
• Support SWPPP inspections, soils testing, CAD drafting, and related duties.
