Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training to join our Community Development Group. You will work on diverse land development projects, collaborating with design teams to prepare construction plans, reports, and cost estimates.

Field observations and coordination with senior engineers will be key parts of the role. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or equivalent, plus EIT or the ability to obtain it within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Engineer-in-Training designation or ability to obtain within six months
• Co-op/Internship experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform civil design and technical tasks under supervision of Project Manager or Project Engineer.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and professionals.
• Perform data analysis and calculations for civil system components.
• Collect data and information to support design decisions.
• Perform field work/construction observation under supervision.
• Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards.
• Analyze proposed solutions for reliability, resource efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Communicate professionally with project team, clients, and contractors.
