Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. in Lexington Park, MD, is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer to support software systems engineering for aviation programs.

This full-time, on-site role requires us to be based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD, and the position is funded to begin after Sept 1, 2026. Candidates should have at least two years of software or systems engineering experience, familiarity with avionics systems, and a BS in a technical ABET-accredited program.

Qualifications

• At least two years experience performing software or systems engineering activities.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject Matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
