Job summary

Blue Chip Talent in Troy, MI is seeking a Junior Accountant/HR Associate to support daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, journal entries, and bank reconciliations, with hands-on experience in QuickBooks Online and ERP systems.

You will assist with general ledger maintenance, monthly close, and financial reporting, while providing light HR support such as onboarding documentation and timekeeping processes. GAAP knowledge and Excel proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent education/experience.
• 1–2 years accounting experience including AP/AR.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or comparable software.
• Working knowledge of GAAP incl. accruals, recognition, and adjustments.
• Experience preparing journal entries and bank/general ledger reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data entry, formatting, and basic formulas.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP Business One, or Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit card transactions with approvals and documentation.
• Prepare customer invoices, apply payments, monitor aging, assist collections.
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals and adjustments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations; investigate discrepancies; assist general ledger maintenance.
• Use QuickBooks Online to record transactions, maintain records, and generate reports.
• Support ERP activities, including data entry, PO processing, and operational reporting.
• Assist with month-end close, audit documentation, and internal controls compliance.
• Provide administrative support for employee records, onboarding docs, and timekeeping.
