Job summary

LHH in Grand Rapids seeks a detail-oriented Accountant to support journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting. You will assist with AP/AR, budgeting and analyses, and help improve accounting processes across the company.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and solid experience with ERP systems and Excel, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. On-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Previous professional accounting experience.
• Experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
• Knowledge of month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review financial data for accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare account analyses, schedules, and financial reports.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Maintain supporting documentation and organized accounting records.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as assigned.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related questions and discrepancies.
• Ensure accounting activities are completed in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
