Job summary

Primary Staffing Inc. is seeking a Jr. IT Support Engineer for a fast-paced production and office setting in Illinois. You will provide on-site end-user support, troubleshoot hardware and software, and help with IT deployments.

The role requires an Associate Degree in IT or equivalent experience, strong Windows knowledge, and good communication skills. Shift flexibility includes 1st shift and Peak Season 2nd shift with potential overtime.

Primary Staffing is looking for a motivated Jr. IT Support Engineer to join a fast-paced production and office environment. If you enjoy solving technical problems, supporting end users, and working hands-on with IT equipment, this opportunity is for you!

Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour + Overtime Pay Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (Non-Peak Season) Peak Season: 2nd Shift, including overnight hours, weekends, and overtime as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for computers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain IT systems and devices.
• Manage support tickets and assist end users with technical issues.
• Support user accounts, password resets, and system access.
• Assist with equipment deployments and IT infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Previous Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Basic networking and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting computer hardware, printers, and software applications.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical issues.
• Must be flexible to transition from 1st Shift to 2nd Shift during Peak Season and work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft cloud technologies.
