Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Journeyman Powerline Technician to assist in the construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines within the United States.

The role requires a Journeyperson certificate and experience in distribution or transmission, with a focus on safety and reliable site performance. The successful candidate will work across field construction, compliance, and collaboration with crews, travel as needed, and overtime to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification or equivalent combination of education and experience in the powerline industry.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
• Ability to meet site access requirements.
• Strong understanding of construction and maintenance principles.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Construct new distribution powerlines across all phases, including framing of wood and steel structures.
• Perform conductor stringing and cable pulling in overhead and civil environments.
• Support setup and operation of pulling and tensioning equipment.
• Operate equipment used in construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines.
• Maintain distribution systems (interior, exterior, overhead, underground).
• Participate in safety protocols, permitting, and safe work practices.
• Lead by example in promoting a safety culture.
• Identify non-conforming work and communicate issues to supervision.
