Forbes Bros. Group of Companies in Charleston, SC is seeking a Journeyman Powerline Technician (PLT) to assist in the construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines.

The Journeyman Lineman will hold a valid Journeyperson certificate and bring experience in the distribution or transmission industry. You will install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage systems, troubleshoot lines, and support safety and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification in powerline industry or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
• Ability to meet site access requirements
• Strong understanding of construction and maintenance principles
• Commitment to safety with hazard recognition and risk controls
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Ability to travel and work overtime/weekends
• Physically fit for manual labour in varying conditions

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Construct new distribution powerlines, including framing of wood and steel structures.
• Perform conductor stringing and cable pulling in overhead and civil environments.
• Support setup and operation of pulling and tensioning equipment.
• Operate equipment used in construction and maintenance of distribution powerlines.
• Maintain interior, exterior, overhead, and underground electrical distribution systems.
