Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a skilled journeyman pipefitter to join our team on Gulf Coast LNG project sites, including Port Arthur, TX. You will read isometrics and piping diagrams, perform testing and commissioning, and plan installation work safely and efficiently.

Requirements include 5+ years in industrial construction as a pipefitter, rigging basics, and proficiency with power tools. Per diem and competitive hourly pay accompany the role on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial construction as a journeyman pipefitter.
• Possess basic rigging skills.
• Proficient in the use of small power tools (i.e. die grinder, right angle grinder).
• Able to read and comprehend piping isometric drawings.
• Able to read piping & instrument diagrams (preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience in the testing and commissioning of piping systems.

Responsibilities

• 5+ years of experience in industrial construction as a journeyman pipefitter.
• Possess basic rigging skills.
• Proficient in the use of small power tools (i.e. die grinder, right angle grinder).
• Able to read and comprehend piping isometric drawings.
• Able to read piping & instrument diagrams’ (preferred).
• 3+ years’ experience in the testing and commissioning of piping systems.
• Capable of efficiently planning work.
• Capable of weld joint preparation to meet project codes and standards.
• Proficient in pipe lay-out.
• Threads pipe using a threading machine.
• Able to read and comprehend support details/drawings.
• May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools and equipment.
• Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
• Must be able to climb vertical ladders and work from heights as necessary.
• Adheres to all safety procedures.
• Understand the use of all types of personal fall arrest systems.
• Able to access scaffold.
