Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in Modesto, CA is hiring a Journeyman Meat Cutter to meet daily production needs and maintain quality in meat cutting and preparation. You will receive, stock, cut, wrap, weigh, label, and merchandise meat products, while assisting with deli and frozen items as needed.

The role relies on customer questions and special requests, requires operating equipment such as grinders and band saws, and includes rotating stock, keeping inventory fresh, and preventing waste.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) or additional job experience.
• Prior Meat Department experience to include cutting of meat.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Locate meat portions and move them to the cutting area.
• Cut and trim meat using hand tools and power equipment.
• Price and label meat for wrapping and display.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and rotate stock to minimize waste.
