Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in Riverbank, CA is hiring a Journeyman Meat Cutter to meet daily production needs in meat cutting and preparation, including weighing, pricing, wrapping, and merchandising products in the meat department.

The Journeyman Meat Cutter will cut and trim meat to order, stock deli and frozen items, and assist customers with special requests. High School Diploma or GED is required, with a strong emphasis on safety and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow job instructions.
• Able to perform simple and repetitive tasks with consistency.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and handle workload efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Locate appropriate meat portions in the walk-in and move them to the cutting area.
• Use knives and band saw to cut meat as required.
• Set machine for proper pricing and labeling of meat.
• Arrange packages on display and remove out-of-date or damaged items.
• Maintain sanitation of work areas and equipment; clean tools and counters.
• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and grinders as needed.
• Instruct and supervise Apprentice Meat Cutters when required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
