Job summary

AEP is seeking a skilled Line Mechanic to build, repair, and maintain electrical transmission and distribution lines both overhead and underground. The role requires climbing, operating hot sticks, and adhering to strict safety protocols in high-voltage environments.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years of line work and a valid CDL-A license, and be willing to work overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years line work experience with journeyman pre-assessment.
• Must possess CDL A license.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles or ride bucket to install or repair lines and hardware.
• Install and repair underground facilities and overhead components.
• Maintain safe working practices around energized lines.
• Travel and overtime including weekends as required.
