Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking skilled construction workers in Washington for site prep, material handling, and operation of hand and power tools on heavy-construction projects. The role supports excavation, concrete, demolition, and weatherization tasks while adhering to state safety regulations and working with minimal supervision.

The position requires refinery maintenance experience, strong tool proficiency, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance experience.
• Thorough understanding of Laborer type work and expertise in basic hand tools.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments about issues and solutions.
• Proficiency in mechanical systems is essential, along with the ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
• The ability to logically diagnose and solve complex equipment issues independently is critical.
• Must pass background check and drug testing program.
• Must have TWIC card and 20-hour high hazard facility training.
• Graduate journeyperson status or 6,000 craft hours preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties within precise limits of accuracy (Quality Control).
• Rigging, signaling, and flagging for heavy-construction lifts.
• Identify and report hazardous materials to maintain a safe, compliant job site.
• Perform trenching and excavation tasks following safety standards.
• Assist with asbestos and lead abatement procedures.
• Support concrete and asphalt preparation, placement, and finishing.
• Complete weatherization tasks to improve energy efficiency and protect structures.
• May train and supervise apprentices.
• Pass safety, process safety management, and site-specific training.
