Job summary

Matrix Service is seeking a skilled laborer to perform site prep, material handling, and operation of hand and power tools on heavy-construction projects in Washington. Responsibilities include safe excavation, concrete work, weatherization, and adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in refinery maintenance or similar heavy-industry roles.
• Strong understanding of laborer work and basic hand tools.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members and other departments.
• Proficiency with mechanical systems; read and interpret schematics and manuals.
• Ability to logically diagnose and solve complex equipment issues independently.
• Good hand-eye coordination and steady hand for small parts.
• Must be able to pass drug testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Rigging, signaling, and flagging for heavy-construction lifts.
• Identify and report hazardous materials to maintain a safe, compliant site.
• Perform trenching and excavation tasks per safety standards.
• Assist with asbestos and lead abatement procedures per regulatory protocols.
• Support concrete and asphalt preparation, placement and finishing on projects.
• Complete weatherization tasks to improve energy efficiency and protect structures.
• May train and supervise apprentices.
• Other duties as required.
