Qualifications

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine material needs.
• Must pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit-for-duty medical.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• May require standing, walking, bending and working in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read specs or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of materials.
• Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting and operate cranes as needed.
• Verify alignment of structural steel members using levels or laser equipment.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using appropriate tools.
• Assemble hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with plans and specifications.
