Job summary

Tic Inc. is seeking a skilled steel erector to join our site team in Mississippi. You will read blueprints, fabricate and assemble structural steel, and assist with hoisting and rigging to install beams, girders, and columns according to plans.

Responsibilities include aligning members, cutting and welding as required, and ensuring safety rules are followed while coordinating with supervisors to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior field experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge for the position; able to follow specifications and plans.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit-for-duty medical.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material.
• Fabricates metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units; operates cranes as needed.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, laser, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces with appropriate equipment.
• Assists with hoisting equipment and rigging for moving heavy materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
• Inspects subcontractors' work for compliance and notes deficiencies.
