Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a Skilled Steel Erector to lay out, install, assemble, and erect steel components per blueprints. You will inspect alignment, cut and weld steel pieces, and supervise hoisting operations on industrial sites.

Expect to work on construction/industrial sites, with exposure to outdoor conditions and overtime as needed. Strong blueprint literacy and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints to determine material requirements.
• Requires ability to fabricate metal parts per plans.
• Positions and aligns structural steel with plumb bobs or lasers.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Fabricates metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; uses cranes or signaling for lifting.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces with torches or welding equipment.
• Positions structural steel members into final positions using turnbuckles, jacks, or hand tools.
• Bolts structural members in place for riveting, bolting, or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy equipment or materials.
