Reliance, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery, equipment, and facility systems to maximize uptime and safe plant operations.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical expertise with experience in motors, drives, PLCs, and schematics, plus the ability to read blueprints and perform preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in mechanical repair and motor controls (including VFDs).
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair motors, motor controls, drives, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and production equipment.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on AC/DC circuits, control panels, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Install and modify electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and equipment in accordance with applicable codes and company standards.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Function
