UTMB Health is seeking a journeyman-level trades professional to maintain and repair heavy commercial building infrastructure. The role covers plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, structural, instrumentation/electronics, refrigeration, and fire-alarm systems within a hospital environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a journey-level license or approved equivalent, and two years of journeyman experience. Lifting up to 100 lbs and 24/7 on-call duties are expected.

Formación

• Must have journeyman-level experience in at least one industrial trade.
• TX state license or approved equivalent with two years journeyman experience.
• Apprentice program or trade school with two years journeyman experience.
• Community college cert or associate degree with two years journeyman experience.
• UTMB/NCCER certification with two years journeyman experience.
• 8 years of industrial/heavy commercial experience as alternate qualification.
• Must pass a post-offer employment test administered by UTMB Rehab Services.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform bending, standing, walking.

Responsabilidades

• Proactively maintains all aspects of the assigned area of responsibility.
• Consults with customers on work priority and owns problems and equipment breakdowns.
• Performs detailed inspections and informs supervision of issues.
• Performs major repairs on complex systems and equipment.
• Starts up, shuts down and adjusts equipment per procedures.
• Performs preventative or corrective maintenance tasks and timelines.
• Identifies maintenance needs and performs proactive repairs.
• Trains and mentors new personnel in area of expertise.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and marks corrections when needed.
• Attends project designs, shutdowns, meetings, and commissioning.
• Supports shift coverage, on-call duties, and after-hours work (24/7 environment).
• Participates in disaster/hurricane preparedness teams.
• Completes UTMB required compliance training and safety meetings.
• Identifies and reports safety hazards; follows internal controls.
• Performs related duties as required.
