Job summary

UF Health seeks a maintenance professional to inspect, service, and repair occupied portions of the physical plant managed by the maintenance department. The role covers equipment and systems described in Attachment A and requires a journeyman license in one or more trades or extensive related experience, with healthcare experience preferred.

Candidate should have high school education or equivalent, and technical training may substitute for part of experience.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• A journeyman's license in one or more trades with 4–6 years of related commercial trade work, or 6–8 years without license, prefer 3+ years healthcare experience.
• Technical education training may substitute for up to two years' work experience.

• Inspection, service and repair of all occupied portions of the physical plant serviced by the maintenance department, including equipment and systems listed in Attachment A.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent.
• A journeyman's license in one or more of the trades that includes a minimum of four to six years of commercial related trade work experience, or six to eight years of commercial trade work experience without a journeyman's license, with a preference of three or more years of that experience in a healthcare environment.
• Technical education training may substitute for up to two years' work-related experience.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

• Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'non-frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• A valid state of Florida driver's license.
