Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an equipment operator to support road and right-of-way work in Texas. You will operate heavy vehicles and machinery, load and grade surfaces, and trench for culverts and pipes.

Safety and compliance come first: verify fluids, perform basic maintenance, and train peers in safe operation. A high school diploma or equivalent and practical experience are preferred; overtime, night and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and prior field experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate power construction equipment to excavate, move, and grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• Instruct and train employees in safe operation of construction equipment and tools.
• Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify causes of defects and errors.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities needed for work activities.
• Ensure subordinate work complies with contract plans and specifications and address deficiencies.
