Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Jewett, Texas is seeking a skilled worker to operate heavy equipment and perform road maintenance and related duties. You will load and grade materials, trench and install pipes, and assist with site inspections while following safety rules and project specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Able to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient in using electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment for road maintenance and repair.
• Load, haul, and grade gravel, dirt, and sand to shape roads.
• Trench and install culverts, water and sewer pipes; remove silt.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• Instruct and train workers in safe operation of equipment.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials for defects.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, and resources for work.
• Review subordinate work against plans and correct deficiencies.
