Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Texas seeks a Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to operate power construction equipment, excavate, load and grade materials, and perform routine maintenance on roads and rights-of-way.

You will trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes, inspect equipment, and assist in training others on safe operation. Ability to work outdoors in all weather, overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow instructions; communicate with supervision.
• Proficient in using electrical, hand, and power tools and related measurement devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to load, haul, and grade material.
• Load and spread gravel, dirt and sand, and smooth and grade roads.
• Trench and install culverts and water/sewer pipes; inspect for defects.
• Maintain fluid levels and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Train and instruct others in safe operation when required.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with plans and specs.
