Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX is seeking an experienced operator to run power construction equipment for excavating, moving, and grading material. You will support maintenance of roads and rights-of-way, load materials, and assist with trenching projects.

The role requires ability to perform physically demanding tasks, follow safety rules, and operate a range of tools with attention to detail. Overtime and outdoor work in varying weather are expected.

Qualifications

• Operate power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade material.
• Follow safety procedures and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Maintain fluid levels, lubrication, and reports of equipment status.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Dig trenches for culverts, water pipes, and sewer pipes; remove debris.
• Check fluid levels and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Train others in safe operation of equipment and techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify defects and issues.
• Estimate time, quantities, and resources needed for work activities.
• Ensure subordinate work complies with plans and specifications.
